Have you ever coveted a product so much, only to be disappointed upon purchasing it, finding it to be not only worthless but also dangerous? This happens all too often, but what many people don’t know is that you can hire a product liability lawyer to fight for you. Product liability lawyers are used commonly, and product liability cases are extremely valid. A manufacturer or distributer has a duty to produce a good product that will not cause harm to its consumers. Don’t be afraid to exercise your rights if you feel that a product has harmed you in some way. Let’s examine a classic product liability case that you may have not considered. Imagine that you have a two-year-old son. On his birthday, you purchase a toy train set or him. This present is especially exciting because it an electric train that runs on its own track. Now imagine that you are in the room playing with your son. You hear the phone ring in the adjoining room, and assume that it is safe to leave your listen for a moment as you go to answer it. After all, it is simply a child’s toy. It seems safe enough. However, shortly after you leave, a scream permeates the household. As you run in, you discover that your son’s fingers have been crushed as the train chugged down the track. It did not stop when your son’s fingers were in the way and the train was much heavier than you imagined. Obviously, you would be furious in such a situation. You would be horrified that a toy could cause such detrimental damage. As you inspect the train further, you find no tag warning of the dangers of this electronic train. Nowhere does it have an age minimum or warn that the train is heavy enough to crush fingers (something that should definitely have been considered). The company has a duty to warn you of such incidents, and you should hire a product liability lawyer to help.
