It’s all about the content
In my quest to become a better writer, I took it upon myself to look up some words in the dictionary.
I have yet another blog where I post articles that are geared to specifically promote different products that are for sale. I’ve been using the site as a test bed, so to speak, for some of the articles that I’m distributing to various article posting sites.
By the way, I’ve only found 2 sites where the juice is worth the squeeze as far as posting articles goes. Want to know what they are? Your mileage may vary, but these 2 article sites easily account for 80-90% of the steady traffic that I get on some posts. I’ll tell you at the end of this post.
I’d titled that other blog “Rants Raves and Reviews.”
I was trying to imply that I’d be posting articles on there on lots of different topics and with no particular rhyme or reason.
Given that it’s all about the content, I looked up the meaning of the words that I was using to describe my blog.
I got all of these definitions from dictionary.com.
The word “rant” means “a loud bombastic declamaiton expressed with strong emotion” or “pompous or pretentious talk or writing.”
Not exactly the kind of feeling I was aiming for.
I also looked up the word “rave” which apparently means “to talk wildly, as in delirium” or “to talk or write with extravagant enthusiasm…” or “to utter as is in madness”
I never really liked that title for my other blog, and now I really hate it. I had no idea that I was using words that had such a negative connotation to them. I just wasn’t thinking about the meaning of the words that I was using.
I’ll be changing the title of that other blog, just like I changed the title of this blog, to something more appropriate and positive. I just need to figure out what that new title is supposed to be.
Oh yes, before I forget, the 2 sites where the juice is worth the squeeze are ezinearticles.com and associatedcontent.com. I get steady and regular traffic from these two sites, but so far I’ve gotten no traffic from any of the other article marketing sites out there. Those are just my results, and remember, your mileage may vary.
